Sound Engineer
Below the line, I usually help people with the technical sound aspects of their creative projects.
For five years after graduating from film school, I worked in Los Angeles as a production sound mixer, boom operator, sound utility, sound editor, and re-recording mixer, with the occasional gig doing live sound for performers. After the pandemic, I moved to the Sierra Nevada foothills to work remotely doing dialogue editing and post sound (documentaries are my favorite).
Over the course of 20+ years, I've used a wide variety of gear and software, but I switched to Davinci Resolve Studio in 2021, when I earned the Editor, Color Correction, Fusion Animation, and Fairlight Audio certifications for Resolve 17.
In 2026, I re-certified, earning the Fairlight Audio certification for Resolve 20. This year, I also produced and recorded an EP of church pipe organ.

This page lists some of my production credits, mostly independent films bound for film festivals and "new media" outlets (e.g. Zeus Network where I did dialogue editing, re-recording mixing, and sound repair for scripted and reality tv.) As a freelance production sound mixer in Los Angeles, I also worked on a smorgasbord of commercials, pilots, and branded content (for social media and websites) that were not listed on IMDB.

My image doesn't usually make the final cut, but in this still, you can see me with my mic and boom pole, wearing a SoundGirls t-shirt, and pretending like I'm on a break (acting!). The story took place on a film set directed by Tim Russ, and I was background for this shot while working as the boom operator for the movie. (Needless to say, the dialogue editor used the audio from the wireless lav mic for this shot.)

I was the production sound mixer for this branded content for Google. Some of my other branded-content clients were Apartment Therapy, Rose Inc., and the Sanders Foundation.

My voice doesn't usually make the final cut, but at 11 seconds into this Sundance intro video, you can hear me say "take two!" from behind the camera where I was recording sound.
